here is a preview of the walk frames, still need to add the shadoews of the hands over the tentacles, and iron out animation quirks

pain frames are doen, they are kinda shitty tho, and i still have to add the usual details (shadows of the arms over the legs) but they will do for now



im not sure if i should work on the attack or death next

so i've been having trouble with the attck sequence, do yall think i should adda muzzle flash like i did with the zombies and ciby? you can see the unfinished thing below



should i do something kinda like what saintofkillers did with his mancubus?

I think this depends on how you envision the workings of the weapon. Does the captured Zamanthyte spit something out? Or is it an energy bolt? Maybe some parts of the armour should glow to indicate that whatever mechanism holds the lizard is activated?

I think it would be better without a muzzle flash, because the current projectile looks more like a ball of acid than an energy ball, and also because the baron uses the same animation for melee and ranged.

A little bit of wishful thinking here, but any chance one of the Phases would use the early version of the shotgun mutant shown here? I generally agree with the decision not to introduce changes to the bestiary across the Phases, but this would add a little variety without fundamentally altering the monster in question.

It may sound a bit stupid, but why not use that variant, put a hat on them, as the Wolfen replacements.

I know. The idea sounds basic, but they're damn good edits. So maybe a new head for it or so could work?

That would result in secret level enemies being very similar to the basic enemies of the game. Besides, raymoohawk already has a concept of the secret monsters.

That was just a concept sprite. I don't think there's a complete set for it.

i am trying to keep the number of human enemies to a minimum, so that idea is a no-no and will reamain that way as long as i am doing the sprites

Bottom one also works better as a melee animation, since you get a sort of chomping action from the armlizardhead.

to me it looks like the tongue curves down in middle one, but curves up in right one.

curving down seems more natural I think.
