It's that time... again! Really? A month early? Hey, if I had my way, Halloween would be two months long!

It's that time for all good Americans to buy a bunch of candy, and cosplay as the latest in scary! I hear it's "Female game developer" this year.

I vow to actually do something this year. The neighborhood I live in has a severe surge of kids lately; I think they now decide to hit the upper-class neighborhoods these days for full-size candy bars. Looks like I better figure something out.

Poll to the top! POST YOUR COSTUMES! POST YOUR PLANS! And for the love of Satan, POST DOOM WADS!

NOW, ONTO DA LINKS! This is the same thing every year, yes, I'm that lazy!

OMG, multi-option poll, so I voted for all of them.

I'll probably do nothing, apart from putting the illuminated cat just outside the front door. It will stay there until it gets replaced with a tree.

Shitposting and other: Taking my brat out trick-or-treating.

Planning to GM a Horror/Slasher themed role playing session with some friends around Halloween as well.

Gotta watch some scary movies... haven't decided which yet... Got the AVGN's Monster Madness to look forward to (can never get enough of those, he always finds new and interesting horror movies to talk about), and Linkara's Longbox of the Damned for horror comic books. Maybe help decorate the yard, since I'm stuck at my parents' house for Halloween this year... And more scary movies.

Probably something similar, especially since I live in Chico (formerly the biggest college party city in the US) and my birthday is also on Halloween.

What are some good Halloween games?

PSN had a great Halloween themed sale last year. I bought a lot of them... then proceeded to never play PS3 again when I have my own version of Steambox.

Here's a story for anyone paying attention....

Years ago two Fridays before Halloween, my friend shows up at my house and says Geo we're going to a costume party. I said the fuck we are. He brought some snakeskin shirt for me straight out of the 70s. He got me a pimp costume, but before the party we had to go get costume jewelery. I grabbed sunglasses, we went out to Walmart to buy costume jewelry and facepaint for him.

Since he showed up at my house with no warning, I was pretty scummy and forced to wear the snakeskin shirt. I had on sunglasses. Well we spent so much damn time at Walmart the sun set and we were late. We stopped for gas and there was his cousin's boyfriend at a pump next to us.

This boyfriend owed my friend money. They're both friends, he borrowed $200 to get a tattoo. The boyfriend said he just so happened to have the money who passed it over to my friend. Again, I look scummy wearing sunglasses at night, my friend is covered in tattoos, wearing a wifebeater in October, gold costume jewelry and jeans. The boyfriend is a pretty scummy looking pierced and tattooed Mexican.

Suddenly there are police lights and some cop comes driving up and asks why someone would hand over money at a gas station to two guys looking like we did. The cop thought we were dealing drugs. My friend was the muscle and I was the dealer.

My friend and his cousin's boyfriend tried to explain to the cop that he owed him $200 for a tattoo. We were frisked and extra cops were called. The cop didn't believe them, he was very skeptical... until I explained it calmly and not paranoid. Plus I was able to tell the cop look in our car, you'll find a bright purple pimp suit with a giant fedora and a receipt for costume jewelry. Headed to a costume party at the VFW.

The cops had a good laugh and they couldn't find anything anyway. They checked the garbage cans and other places at the gas station.

Halloween hasn't caught on in this corner of the Antipodes, but it's probably just a matter of time. I'll most likely be lurking around the forums.

I haven't had Halloween here in a couple years due to bad weather.

Two years ago, its snowed over a foot.

Last year we had "Frankenstorm", and the power went out for a week. Which caused anarchy on some of the busiest highways in the Western Hemisphere, flooding, fires, carbon dioxide leaks from misused generators, and looting. There was a gas shortage; I recall the police taking over stations for their own use, and turning people away. We had to wait on line for several hours. The national guard was stationed here, and people were being pretty hostile with one another. Also billions of dollars were lost in only a matter of a few days, when business was interrupted on Wall Street. All in all, it was actually one of the scarier Halloweens. The whole experience opened my eyes as to how fast society can break down; things become ugly real fast. It was all caused because energy companies had built sub-stations below sea level, and power-grids were destroyed by flooding. It was cheaper for them to build them there, and this kind of weather was unprecedented. Whoever says climate change is myth, is a god damn fool. Forecasters say, we're about to be walloped by a horrendous winter in the North East.

I have class that night, so I'll be there while everyone else is getting candy. Other than that, I really have nothing going on. Probably begin my preparations for Thanksgiving (US) and then Christmas after that. It's hard to believe it's already getting to that time of year now.

Halloween in Mexico is really, really popular, but is somehow eclipsed by Día de Muertos, while in some places the two holidays tend to get mixed, resulting in strange views of people in graveyards in Halloween costumes standing next to a tomb with ofrendas made up of cempazúchil and sugar skulls. So my plan is:

-Give candy to children on Halloween.
-Play Grim Fandango the next couple of days.

It's going to be a fun weekend.

I know I won't be seeing any kids this year like last, barely any live on the street anymore. But the candy dish might still be full though. ;p
I dunno if I'll be able to carve a pumpkin this year if the plant doesn't produce another one. (atm at a nice and big one though)

But my cousins birthday in the 31st and my bday lies on the next tuesday, so.. Family decides on 1st/2nd to celebrate both.

My brother is 9 years old now. Despite not so many people celebrate Halloween in Hungary, I'm thinking about making a Jack'o'Lantern with him.

Also, my birthday is gonna be a week before Halloween. Just sayin'. :D

PS.: a music that I've always fond Halloween-esque despite not directly related to the theme.

Someone MUST carve a caco pumpkin which plays Doom 64's soundtrack from an internal speaker :>

This would be great. At a Halloween party a few years ago I hijacked the stereo and played the Doom64 music while everyone was tripping on LSD. I started with the Altar of Pain music, and within like 30 seconds, everyone was dead silent with shell-shocked looks on their faces. I like to think I changed a few lives in some small way. Good times.

Anyway... last year I went to a party as Mugen. The year before I went as The Punisher, which I'll probably do again this year, since it was so unbelievably awesome that naked women were trying to tackle me by the dozen.

Halloween doesn't even remotely exist here apart from the stores still having Halloween themed products mainly with the soft drink can packs.

Can't say I'm disappointed though, as I've grown I never really cared for it anymore unlike when I was upset as a child that one day my parents let my brother go out with people who were attempting it, back then few people would at least try to do Halloween.

So I'll just be doing the same old shit as usual.

Trying to catch spooky movies on tv. Just finished watching The Thing (1982), that movie is so awesome. Also watched "The Eye" and the 50's movie "The Incredible Shrinking Man" last week.

Wife and I went shopping for costumes the other day for a Halloween party we're invited to. She's Red Riding Hood, complete with a real taxidermied wolf. I'm going to be a sexy harlequin, though sadly I can't modify it to be an Eldar 40K harlequin :(

I went to Dungeon of Doom last night with my girlfriend. What I'd call by far the best, most visually stunning and horrifying haunted house in 2 hours of the Chicago area.

I've also figured out what makes the most popular haunted houses in the area... how close their competition is. The less the competition, the higher they rate in voting popularity.
