invictius Posted October 1, 2014 I'm a sucker for 3d models and high-res textures. I like to use the hd sprites that have been released along with "beautiful doom" and the hd sounds. What are your must-use enchancement mods? 0 Share this post Link to post
Jaxxoon R Posted October 1, 2014 Smooth Doom. Perkristian's HD Sound Effects. A weird modified PSX Doom TC with all the actors removed. 0 Share this post Link to post
axecalibore Posted October 1, 2014 Brutal Doom, zd-dhtp-hasodoom.pk3 for hi-res title and intermission screens, DoomMetalVol4.wad (music enhancement), DoomHDvo3.pk3(hi-res sprites) zdoom-dhtp-20130802.pk3 (hi-res texture pack), and RealGoreForButalDoomV1.pk3 -for brains, possibly brains sliding down the walls, but not sure where that comes from. UltimateBrutalArsenal and Infernal Doom are fun weapon replacements. I also love the 3D models like mad, but they don't work with Brutal Doom, which gives an awesome lightshow, weapon sound effects, and the earth shaking with heavy weapons fire. So I'm using an incomplete hi-res sprite pack that was abandoned, which works with Brutal Doom imperfectly. I must have high resolution pack. I cannot stand old-school pixelated textures on anything. 0 Share this post Link to post

I also like the sprite fix project, though I believe it is not compatible with smooth doom, if i remember correctly, which is a shame because it should be! 0 Share this post Link to post
raymoohawk Posted October 1, 2014 iirc gifty said the minor sprite fixes would eventually be incoporated into smooth doom 0 Share this post Link to post
Tango Posted October 2, 2014 Smooth Doom is really good, lately though I've been using Complex Doom for Zandronum a lot. I don't believe it has even a thread anywhere, not sure how updates really become apparent but in any case I got it here: http://www.best-ever.org/wads latest is 22b, I think 0 Share this post Link to post
