Now that SW has made yet another resurgence, I want to know how the "battle of the Stars" is fought around here, if at all.

Great, I guess you'll observe that some idiot actually voted ST then :)

May God have mercy on your soul, whoever voted that.

If we're talking about the underlying cultures defined by each fantasy world, I'd go with Star Wars because of its amazing design and superb sights. It's truly a source for inspiration.

As for the main plots behind each one, I'll say neither. They're both based on really old shows/movies with lots of flaws and quirks. Shows like Babylon 5 and Farscape have far more consistent plot, but that's not saying much. I'm still waiting for THE sci-fi epic.

Oh, heh.

You know, Star Trek Generations would have been a really cool stand-alone movie, like, not part of the Star Trek series. I thought that movie and First Contact (if that's the one with the Borg) were pretty good.

They both rule, but since that option is not present, I had to vote for Star Trek! BWAHAHAHAHA

Star Trek: First Contact has an awesome storyline.

Lol, a boy that jumps around on a pogo stick while zapping cute-looking aliens and grabbing keycards floating in midair.

Star Wars has superb imaginative design, but churns out badly made films.

Star Trek has dull design and only makes decent films.

AOTC was a huge relief after Phantom Menace...much better. Trek-wise, First Contact is easily the best film ( I actually like Trek VI, "The Undiscovered Country", a lot ) from a selection that's not as consistent as the SW films.
