monster which can die but can't be shot / dehacked question

Dehacked question: I have an idea for a new monster which can die (i.e. by a crusher) but can't be shot. I ask you if this is possible at all.

I believe it's not, unless you make it a ghost monster: -Obstacle flag, Radius 0, Height 0. Then it will only be vulnerable to splash damage, but also clip through walls and you know what. There is no way to differentiate means of damage in DEHACKED: monster can either "get damage of any kind" or "be nonshootable".

It would be hard to do even in ZDoom's DECORATE: There, you'd have to give the monster a +GHOST flag and then redefine all weapons to not affect ghosts, I think.

Try removing the SHOOTABLE flag from it, and instead give it the CORPSE flag and a health of 0. Then it'll be killed by crushers by getting turned into gibs. On the flip side, it'll also be killed by closing doors, or platforms that raise past the lower sector's ceiling if they're on the edge, etc.

thanks, it sounds like it is possible, I'll take a closer look to it,
To make it more clear, I want to include a firewall -which is the monster-, not shootable, but instantly killing, until you press a switch...
