Help editing OGG file

Recommended Posts

I have this piece of music by MrSoundsofMadness on YouTube (he has given permission for people to use it)

I was wondering if someone here could edit out the last few seconds of the track, because it is directly from this video created by MrSounds:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUw3FFH6lJY, which itself ends in loud static that is not part of the music.

I have tried contacting MrSounds, but have received no answers back.

If someone here could take out that static at the very end, I would be very thankful.

The OGG track:

You could always break out Audacity and do it yourself. I don't mean that in a derogatory way, more of an encouraging one. It's really not hard to trim out part of a song; I'm no audiophile but even I can do it.

  • All you have to do is move the vertical cursor to where it starts;
  • Ctrl-I to split the track there;
  • Double-click the part of the track with all the static;
  • Hit Delete to nix it;
  • "Export Audio" as an OGG (preferably a separate file).
Then tada, you've got an OGG without the static.

(Although you might want to fudge with the OGG quality settings in the Export dialog if the file size comes out larger than the original, but that's getting a bit technical.)
