When I see people complaining about Brutal Doom or Hatred, I wonder if they had even ever played SoF. This game started pushing the envelope of gore 15 years ago. Also you can thank Raven Software for it!

In 2000, after receiving a complaint from a member of the public about the explicit content of the game, the British Columbia Film Classification Office investigated and decided the violence, gore and acts of torture were not suitable for persons under 18 years of age. In a controversial decision, the game was labeled an "adult motion picture" and was rated as a pornographic film. In Germany, the game was placed on the Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons.

Implying the same lefty sites hating on this game are not the same people to excuse the killing of artists for offending the oppressed Muslims hoard.

At any rate, at least both camps have lousy opinions.

I loved Soldier of Fortune.

I'm guessing the argument is, in SoF the Muslims are shooting back? Granted, the very first level has civvies you can blow apart, and you can even kill the surrendered bad guys near the end of the level. But they were Neo-Nazi scum, so it was justified.

"the world sucks and I’m going to kick it’s ass”, that's a badass quote right there!
Other than that this game is very promising, even through it will probably have panned critcs and a lot of censorship.
As usual, the same bs for another game.

I love when Technician posts like this because it shows he clearly mashes stuff he doesn't like together in his brain like an over stuffed sock draw so he can't voice his ignorant opinion about one thing without a bunch of other non sequiturs popping out as well. I like to think that if someone cut him of in traffic he'd start screaming about immigration and how he's the REAL oppressed minority.

This made me laugh. I've heard things about Canadian traffic, like its only 30 kph. Its illegal in sascatuan to look at a moose while flying an airplane. Trying to look up the law, its illegal to look at a moose FROM an airplane in Alaska. Well that tops it.

Moose.... the lion of deer.

I have deer in my backyard mowing the lawn when the rain won't let me. Its gotten to the point that I can open my kitchen window and pet them. One day I might take that challenge.

Man, Imagine the emotional rug pulling of having the chance to ride a moose around only to find out it doesn't have big scoopy antlers. Way to mess with my dreams.

And how is call of duty not a mass murder simulation? I personally can't wait for hatred.

And for anyone who cares, I hate call of duty.

Zombie games are just good excuses to kill people.

30min gameplay for your viewing pleasure. :) [in Polish though]

Some notes:

* The dude playing says it's pretty fun.
* Difficult stuff, it's easy to die.
* Sandboxy first level, linear second.
* Executions = Medkits.
* Bonus objectives grant Ressurection Points.
* Civilians can pick up weapons.
* Everything can be destroyed.
* You can drive vehicles.
* You can turn close-ups of executions off.

Full first level. It has police, and armed civilians to fight as well. I'm sure the combat gets more intense as the game progresses.

Its like Kratos with guns. Its honestly the best finished or near finished Unreal 4 game I've ever seen and might ever see 6 months from now too.

I know the executions really sell the game, but they break the flow. Only a matter of time before they get a Punnisher license deal or a zombie game.

From a gameplay perspective, I'm happy civilians can pick up weapons and everything is destructible. Really there needs to be more danger for the entertainment. There are cops, but they're few and far between. From a dual stick shooter perspective, there are just more intense games that look to be more fun.

If only these people had basements to hide in. I am happy they have second floors.

What's up with the frame rate? Is it the game or the video? Every so often it feels like it skips a frame when the action gets going.

I like at the 9 minute mark the NPC runs up to the gunman only to cower in fear.

I have a tough time thinking what they can do for a second level. The army? Helicopters? Demonic creatures? Contra spread guns? Nevermind.... sewer.

They can be turned off so I assume the devs had realized that, too.

Maybe as maps progress they start bringing in SWATS and military personnel, increasing difficulty.

Jesus, I'm still getting email's about this thread? It's still going?

There doesn't seem much challenge (from what I've watched as of now). The police don't seem as much of a threat as they should.

Otherwise it's...well...meh.

I've watched some gameplay and for some reason this game really reminds me of Duke3D...maybe because it's a game with small but open city levels. This game would work wonderfully with Duke3D-style exploration and level design.

In the developer's defense, it is the first level. But yeah a gun vs civilians is always no match. At least you take out a police station. I'm not saying Fudge the police, but I'm saying people with guns put up more of a fight than people without them.

Maybe a biker gang will come for your head. The mafia? Cartel? Dog the bounty hunter? But yeah swat and army seem like easy go-tos. Will you get fans and paparazzi, but you kill them?

This looks like the type of game that will lose it's charm quickly. I may be wrong, but the feeling I get from watching the first level is that it's gonna be fun in the beginning, but when the "psycho" gimmick wears off, it's just going to be lackluster. I'm saying this because that's how I felt playing Postal 1, and this looks pretty much like an updated Postal 1.

I wish Total Biscuit would talk about games rather than publishers, developers, who hasn't given him a review copy or why he's not reviewing games. I mean he's a games critic or first impressionist. He should start doing that. Now he's just the Alex Jones of video games.

I used to be a fan of his.

It used to be every day, but he has stomach cancer. I think it was the daily tirades that got a bit much for me. Now I think its a lot of Hearthstone, but I'm out of the loop.

I'm watching an LP of this game and so far I can say that I was 100% right about it. First: it's not the devil incarnate and is nowhere near as violent as the crybabies made it out to be (what a surprise, huh?). Second: it's not too interesting considering you're only killing humans. There's just not much variety.

Otherwise, it's cool to see sandboxy levels (even though there's nothing but killing to be done) and the destruction is just beautiful. Honestly, it's way more exciting to see buildings blow up rather than people being executed.

Finally... This was my opinion before and the game itself confirmed it... Anyone who says this game is either 'too realistic' or 'too edgy' misses the point completely. Honestly, the first time I heard "My genocide crusade begins here" I was laughing my head off. Anyone who says it's 'trying too hard' is plain wrong. Hatred is clearly not meant to be taken seriously. Devs themselves have said that this is 'pure entertainment' and it is nothing more than that.
