Linguica Posted October 22, 2014 http://hitestudios.com/icons-of-doom/ Yours for a mere $6,000 edit: oh hey the creator made a thread in the Creative Works subforum that I didn't see: http://www.doomworld.com/vb/creative-works/70520-doom-assemblage-sculpture/ 0 Share this post Link to post
Avoozl Posted October 22, 2014 Holy fuck that's pretty epic looking, very expensive too, oddly though on the lower right corner it looks like there's a Hyperblaster and Grenade Launcher from Quake 2 0 Share this post Link to post

MFG38 Posted October 22, 2014 Only 6,000 dollars for this? Why not 6,666.66? 0 Share this post Link to post
Toxie Rocks Posted October 22, 2014 Boy, that's bad-ass. Should be a death metal album cover. Makes a guy feel like he's wasted lots of time making Doom wads. 0 Share this post Link to post

Obsidian Posted October 22, 2014 If I got that I would attach it to the roof above my bed. Because John Romero. 0 Share this post Link to post
gemini09 Posted October 22, 2014 Suddenly the Icon Of Sin is pretty bad-ass, ain't it, everybody? ;] 0 Share this post Link to post
Koko Ricky Posted October 23, 2014 I'm really, really, really pleased to see that someone made this. 0 Share this post Link to post
Cupboard Posted October 23, 2014 The video is theatrical, I really grinned. 0 Share this post Link to post
Waffenak Posted October 23, 2014 Noise, I would love to have this displayed. Bethesda store also had really cool icon of sin lithograph for sale but its now out of print. That custom reaper cyberdemon miniature with extra bodytubes and that rocket launcher on steroids were neat 0 Share this post Link to post
RUSH Posted October 23, 2014 This is simply badass. Also, bonous points for modeling Romero's head. Epic! 0 Share this post Link to post

Hambourgeois Posted October 24, 2014 pls trigger warning the cacos sharing x and y coordinates for us chocolate/vanilla doomers. namaste~ Realpost: This is neato but like others the "interface" inconsistency is a bit odd to me. I guess the statusbar parts that aren't the face aren't really iconic or interesting. 0 Share this post Link to post
SYS Posted October 31, 2014 Super badass, and a great way of recycling obsolete computer hardware. 0 Share this post Link to post
VGA Posted October 31, 2014 Now I want an actually working PC case like that, that plays DOOM demos around the clock. 0 Share this post Link to post
MajorRawne Posted October 31, 2014 Maes said:If only Doom 4 was like this... An Icon of Sin map for the HD generation to skip, only for it to be replicated in every Doom 4 mod, where it will always be skipped by players. Cool! ;) 0 Share this post Link to post
Shapeless Posted November 2, 2014 this guy made a more accurate looking icon of sin demon skull. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/blog/236779.page but this 6k doom shrine has more stuff going on. 0 Share this post Link to post
Pure Hellspawn Posted November 3, 2014 holy shit. this is freaking awesome. 0 Share this post Link to post
StevieWolfe Posted November 3, 2014 That is a badass sculpture indeed, and thanks to this thread I just now found out we have a special interest subforum even though I've been browsing this site ever since like early 2004. 0 Share this post Link to post
Linguica Posted December 21, 2014 As a coda, it looks like Romero ended up buying it 0 Share this post Link to post
joe-ilya Posted December 21, 2014 Instead of letting Romero buy it, he could just cut his head off, put it onto a spiky stick and stick it inside the IOS brain. That was the final detail but he just let him buy it! 0 Share this post Link to post
Avoozl Posted December 22, 2014 God, Romero must have quite some money to blow on such a thing. 0 Share this post Link to post

Jaxxoon R Posted December 22, 2014 I guess he didn't blow all his Doom money on Ferraris and products with the purpose of appeasing his rocker hair. He blew some of his Doom money on Doom. 0 Share this post Link to post
Enjay Posted December 22, 2014 I love how Romero is clearly still a big fan of Doom and still at least gives the impression of being like a kid with a really cool toy whenever he does anything Doom related. I find his enthusiasm for the game quite infectious. As for the sculpture, I think it's really cool. OK, so the status bar is weird and not hugely representative of the one in Doom but I don't care. Overall the piece looks great. 0 Share this post Link to post
