Hexen's axe with shield?

I've seen This weapon in Grezzo2, and was wondering where did it come from, and wether it's author allows free use of it or not. Thanks a lot.

I knew that weapon was featured in brutal hexen, but did grezzo2 take it from there? I thought it was an older weapon
