Looking for a better video editing program

I currently use an older version of Videopad but I am looking for something that has more features but is not overwhelming like Sony Vegas or Adobe After Effects.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Shoot, I can't export to AVI (my preferred output format) with Lightworks free. Only Pro allows me.

Camtasia Studio 8 works for me. Its capabilities seem to lie somewhere between WMM and Vegas, and the screen recorder is built in.

Well there is this one:http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/, it's free and has support for a lot of formats and it's not overwhelming.
