esselfortium Posted April 28, 2017 I love the lighting atmosphere, especially in that second shot! I don't think I've ever seen the Eternal Doom textures used so effectively before. 0 Share this post Link to post
Da Werecat Posted April 28, 2017 The second shot looks like Quake. In fact, I vaguely remember a similar room in one of the better-looking custom maps for Quake. 0 Share this post Link to post

Gez Posted April 28, 2017 Did you intentionally add or remove a BEHAVIOR lump to get a map interpreted as the wrong format? If so, go for it. Make some glitch art. 1 Share this post Link to post

Is that what happened? All I know is that it happened while I was editing this with SLADE 3. I saved the map like this without knowing yet, but thanks to backup files, it's now uploaded to /idgames. If I make a similar mistake like this, I'll be sure to post it like art! :D 0 Share this post Link to post

Ichor Posted April 28, 2017 This sort of thing happened to me a long time ago. I was able to play it (at the time, I didn't know what had happened and I was just doing a routine test). It looked like HOMs on acid. When I first started the map, all looked well, but I saw a wall that shouldn't be there. I kept going (noclip) and I saw the mess that engulfed a good 2/3rds of the map. I did have a backup though. 1 Share this post Link to post

That was certainly an interesting experience. It seems like some of the lines and sectors were preserved? How did that happen? 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted April 28, 2017 Bad node build I guess. This was back in the 90s when I was using DCK. The node builder that came with it worked well enough, but I thought I'd try a new one. Yeah...not a particularly clever idea. 0 Share this post Link to post

Ichor Posted April 29, 2017 So, we have chocolate Doom and vanilla Doom. Why not grape Doom? 0 Share this post Link to post

Dragonfly Posted May 1, 2017 Been working on MAP04 for Jimmy's comical yet brilliant mod - A Boy And His Barrel. I've been tasked with a map that is influenced a lot by Episode 4. I'll keep posting updates as they come, but here's some E4M1 inspired areas, and some of my own design entirely mixed in there for good measure: 15 Share this post Link to post

Fuzzball Posted May 2, 2017 Already linked in the sky thread recently posted but I'll mirror here anyway incase anybody wants to see- made with composite stuff, layering, painting the differences etc and blah ...palette conversion didn't do the lower half justice with the subtle browns...anybody else can try it so I'll post the PNG file too.
