Post Your Doom Picture (Part 2)

I love the lighting atmosphere, especially in that second shot! I don't think I've ever seen the Eternal Doom textures used so effectively before.

The second shot looks like Quake. In fact, I vaguely remember a similar room in one of the better-looking custom maps for Quake.

Everyone has these absolutely beautiful, intricate, gorgeous designs for their maps and I'm over here like:lol.png.d189d0e5130502c9497984074f703296.pnglel.png.a262532d38913df6ecd1d4d827939712.png

Did you intentionally add or remove a BEHAVIOR lump to get a map interpreted as the wrong format?

If so, go for it. Make some glitch art.

Is that what happened? All I know is that it happened while I was editing this with SLADE 3. I saved the map like this without knowing yet, but thanks to backup files, it's now uploaded to /idgames.

If I make a similar mistake like this, I'll be sure to post it like art! :D

I have tried, but it's unplayable unfortunately.

This sort of thing happened to me a long time ago. I was able to play it (at the time, I didn't know what had happened and I was just doing a routine test). It looked like HOMs on acid. When I first started the map, all looked well, but I saw a wall that shouldn't be there. I kept going (noclip) and I saw the mess that engulfed a good 2/3rds of the map. I did have a backup though.

That was certainly an interesting experience. It seems like some of the lines and sectors were preserved? How did that happen?

Bad node build I guess. This was back in the 90s when I was using DCK. The node builder that came with it worked well enough, but I thought I'd try a new one. Yeah...not a particularly clever idea.

Isn't that what happens when you open ZDoom (doom in hexen) format maps as though they were vanilla?

So, we have chocolate Doom and vanilla Doom. Why not grape Doom?

Something I was working on over 5 years ago which I discovered in my mediafire account, I can't remember why or what I was aiming for.
