Just wanted to share the beauty that is simply classic Doom, in Crispy Doom, using a personally modified PalPlus (changed the green range and made it more vibrant). Out of order because Imgur, but for now I will cover everyone's favorite: Knee-deep in the Dead.

I'm on E1M2 right now, but the screenshots are taken in E1M1.

@RjY, @cyan0s1s and @Tango: its resurgence map21 if you dont know. I picked it precisely because the theme is so darn common, so it would be hard to guess. I think that @Joshy  is pickin up some tricks from his pal darkwave ;) (where is he btw?)

 

 

Hehe :P To be honest, although I did take inspiration from Darkwave's map, there was a bidirectional influence happening over the time we did Speed of Doom. He exploring ideas on making outdoors maps as he was strictly only doing indoor maps when he started out (which was naturally very impressive for a beginner), he looked at my NDCP2 map27 and 32 submission, Death-Destiny maps and map 01, 03 and 05 of Speed of Doom which was made before he started his green brown rocks theme SoD maps (though he does it better of course lol). Funny how influences can end up influencing each other!

This spiderdemon began in the centre of the room. Somehow on death it slid up the edge of the first flight of stairs, along the ledge, and only stopped on reaching the second flight.

Here's a big ol' dump of the doomish things I've been plucking away at. A big enough dump that it may even warrant spoilering perhaps maybe.

 

First Rekkr. Initially I was a bit shy to post about it, but the map is quite close to completion so I feel more comfortable showing it off. The premise regards our brave Viking dude arriving in a little raft, going up a mountain, discovering a port-town built halfway into the mountain, and finally emerging to the open-air portion of the town overlooking the ocean, where you aim to steal a longboat and get the hell out of Dodge.

Revae of course made the 99% of the resources, but I couldn't help but add a few new fun textures. Namely a telescope, rug, globe, and a waterwheel. Revae made spruced up faux-3Dified versions of the telescope and globe and replaced the rug with a much better looking one. Here's some before/after stuff (also marvel at the old versions of the rooms in the before shots. See if you can find the Startan.)

Oh and here is the waterwheel. It embarrassingly took me almost the entire day to make it, so of course I want to show it off. Its 24 frames. I'm considering making it smoother, but it was a headache to get to this point as it is. I'm masochistic though, so I probably will.

The entire waterwheel structure was amusingly made from chopping up and messing about with this texture:
