The more you map, the better you get so you may learn to cut the inferior parts.

True, but my first maps were 5-10 minutes long when you play through them, some unfinished ones even reaching 15, while the most recent ones I've made are 2-5 minutes and mostly under 40 monsters and Tyson... which is fairly worrying since I'm not a fan of that gameplay.

@elend is that palplus?, and something else with the lighting I see. Monument by Chris Hansen might suit your tastes, it uses that palette by default along with few custom sounds. First time I saw it in-game and the maps looked delicious imo
