Also, on a related note, I sure hope that Portal opens up to GLADOS.  I've always wanted to see GLADOS' death animation when hit by a BFG blast from close range.  :)

Normally I prefer software rendering but an area like this really demands a GL renderer with bilinear mipmapping.

Saying that making Doom and Doom 2 open source has to be one of the best things to every happen in the history of software is a major understatement.

 

It never ceases to amaze me how far people in general have been able to push the Doom engine.
