I think it's GZDoom's high quality resize mode. You can turn it on in Options -> Display Options -> OpenGL Renderer -> Texture Options

EDIT: After a closer look, I think at least the sprites are, in fact, an HD project. Still, GZDoom's rescaling will give you a pretty similar result.

i like these colours a lot for vanilla textures

max brightness on the lava makes it work really well

b: i like the way it doesn't crash doom.exe despite being curvy

a secret project is underway but it'll probably be anathema to a lot of doomworlders

Its the first time I've ever seen pixel art smoothed that didn't look like shit. It actually looks like a painting

Looks, like a Photoshop filters run on the screenshots.  But it could be a high res texture pack I suppose.

You right.

I figured, I do too much Photoshop and see the tells.  But it would be pretty nice to have an HD pack with this asthetic, smooth af.

I just went into E1M1 with GZDoom to see the comparison:

Yeah, @Honey16 is pretty clearly using and HD pack. I still think it's based off of rescaling, though.

Yeah, @Honey16 is pretty clearly using and HD pack. I still think it's based off of reescaling, though.

Some tests I did:

No hires textures, just renderer options

Then with HD texture pack and Beautiful Doom sptires

Okay, I did some comparisons to my screens just using the texture resizing options and @Honey16's shots.

They are definitely using higher resolution sprites that I'd love to know where to download.  The textures are pretty spot on, I will go as far as saying they were using MOSTLY vanilla textures, or vanilla textures with slightly different render settings than me.  One anomoly I can't explain is how their EXIT sign appears to be pixelly while mine resized just like everything else.

Awesome! Saw it at stream :D

Why is it still name "boom megawad" tho? Still dont have a name for 25 years project?

As discussed on that same stream (as some point during it's whopping 7 hour length) I talked names. I've got too many choices but none have made me go "That's it! That's the name!".

It's indeed really hard to pick a good name, IMO.

It has to be unique, memorable and a good description of what your work is about (even if it's just story related). Good names also makes the thing a lot more interesting for me at a first glance. For example, a wad called "UAC Invasion" won't call my attention as much as "Ancient Aliens".

i wonder if dragonfly's level set has a story or anything?

i did stop by and watch some building on twitch, good technique :))

Regards "creative" names, I've still got asshole.wad and penis.wad lying around, heh. Asshole was a speedmap, can't remember at all what penis is, and there was also a cock.wad that's long gone.

There's also a kurvadopicinasratuz.wad, but I don't think I made that one, nor am I sure of the exact translation other than it looks like some incredibly rude Czech. Not sure why it's there either, I blame @129thVisplane :P

Don't want to look in the WADs just yet, that would spoil it :))

Hahahaha. I used to call my WADs random lesser known/seen animals, like "rhino.wad", "flamingo.wad", "axolotl.wad" etc, heh. I cut that shit out once I started working in the PK3 format. My project is currently called "Project: Decadence" on my hard drive, but I'm absolutely certain that name will not last much longer; I might call a map Decadence, but not the project itself. :)
