I don't really know if this is a place for opinions or tips but does this even look good?

@Rhebiz Depends on what you wanted to achieve. I can tell you how it looks: Very dark. If intentional, great job. Seems like some sort of explosion or fight happened.

made it symmetrical...I guess it's a DM map now?  Lol

I wish this thinking would go away forever.

I plan to carry this aesthetic on to a larger singleplayer map.  I think I'll call it 'Redline' or something similar.

It depends what you're going for.  The decoration, atmosphere, lighting and effects all look good, but the room itself is basically just an oval.  The Doom engine thrives on interesting architecture, not least because it makes fighting enemies more fun.

There might not be much you can do to that room now given you've already overlaid the detailing, but in future perhaps think about how the room would look in plain brightness without the Things.  Make it interesting in that respect first, and then add the details.

I'd suggest you wait until the WAD gets updated. It's great, but in a pretty rough state.

That might get confused with The Red Line.

I've been following the thread and seeing that, yea.

Yeah, I figured there would be something with the name already.  I can work around it, Redline Rampage or something.  It'll have to become a decent map before I start worrying about the name (It was originally "Orthogonal Shit" lol)

@guitardz This looks fabulous! I hope you implement those red threads as a gameplay element as well.

Maybe there could be a game of guess the retextured Iwad map.

Some more remade babel, even if without the wall coming out of the diagonal parts of the central structure and the archvile "statue".image.png.380dc02a5abcb89fc63f0f3a2e163f51.png
