Post Your Doom Picture (Part 2)

Recommended Posts

Damn, I need some playable terrain like this as well. I'll try Jaska's approach. Would be non-playable anyway.

1) Made terrain with "Trimble Sketchup 2017" sandbox tool. As GZDoombuilder only accepts .OBJ-files and Scetchup exported .DAE I had to convert it to OBJ.

Does anyone know why on most copies of Doom II the age rating is covered by a black sticker?

The copy I have is and I've saw other that are too but then there are copies that are not.

The first picture has it covered but the other one doesn't.

Because it was printed wrong.

If you pay attention, on the box above, there's not just a black sticker on the age rating, there's also another sticker with its own age rating. It says 15+.

While on the sticker-less box, it says 18+ only.

One could also say the 18 rating is from the ELSPA (Entertainment & Leisure Software Publisher Association, now known as the Association for UK Interactive Entertainment, or UKIE), a British organization. I'm not sure what the "15" sticker is from. It doesn't match the look of the ESRB stuff. It can't be PEGI because PEGI was created in 2003.

Thank you for this information. Been looking online but couldn't find anything.

It's a BBFC age rating, which is the same organisation that rates TV and film in the UK. Since the mid 80s, any game that has "proscribed content" such as exceptional violence has to have a mandatory BBFC rating, with PEGI ratings being an entirely optional system. Sometimes developers and publishers decide to voluntarily have their game rated by the BBFC, which is why you'll occasionally see BBFC U, PG, and 12 ratings on games.

But its difficult breaking free from the "making tech bases flow" or something in that nature. Got several of these tech base themed maps in progress all at the same time, but they all look similar, which may or may not be a bad thing. It does look good enough, so I'll probably keep working on it.

I know exactly this feeling. I find tech maps easier to make and make it look okish, but in the end most of them are too generic and look similar and play similar. Only combination of textures is different.
