Your drumming looks really sloppy (not meant as an insult) but sound tight as hell. I dunno what it is, but I guess it looks sloppy since you play so soft. Though, the clips shown aren't the actual takes that ended up on the recording I guess. There were sounds of crashes being hit when you didn't hit them in the clip and that mysterious china sounds like a normal crash for some weird reason.

Nice playing, but not my cup of tea. Play harder or else you'll never get those degrassi-girls.

Thanks guys, forgot to check this forum. Btw danne, the takes in the video are the same takes used on the audio of the video. Not sure where the extra crash sounds are coming from, I didn't do anything to the overhead mikes except EQ them after. I actually recorded this song twice, one version for the album, and one version for the video. Yeah I don't hit super hard during the blast beats because of the speed, the faster you go the less time you have to move your sticks/hands. You're probably right though, I bet the Degrassi girls like hard hitters... :((((

What with, out of curiosity?

You're recording into a DAW, right? Only, I wouldn't put it past you to have some kind of ridiculous all-analogue setup in your bedroom.

Yeah I use Reaper for all that and plug all the mikes into a tascam us1800. It'd be awesome to have some epic recording studio, but $$$$

Finished a new album:

(2015) Long-Distant Aberration
= https://nostrilcaverns.bandcamp.com/album/long-distant-aberration-2015
= melancholic ambient / fast drums

1. Long-Distant Aberration (9:46)
2. Tropospheric Scatter (9:39)
3. Chance Meeting (10:38)

The first two songs have non-stop drumming-as-fast-as-I-can. The third song is slow. All drums are improvised. The keyboards were written/recorded after the drums and are a mix of semi-composed and improvised.

Check out the live drum video of the first two tracks:

really digging these tracks :D I like the quirky mathy elements that work their way in occasionally amidst the sustained-arpeggios that comprise a lot of the riffs. I think the vocal style works well in this one, too. Cool stuff!

Yeah, the dude above me pointed me towards this release. Fun stuff, I gotta say, interesting riffing, some catchy parts and fitting vocals. Been digging avantgarde/experimental bm much more than traditional one as of lately, thanks for sharing!

Time of Metal, heh. I remember hearing some of these on your YT page so it's nice to see you're still going. I may have to purchase a few copies of these I am not particularly interested in Black Metal, though so I may skip the Black Metal stuff (although I do enjoy a lot of the old Bathory material). Also, am I right in thinking that you had a Metal Archives page at one point? Or am I just tripping my ball bag again?

Yeah there's an NC page at metal-archives. I don't keep it updated, but it's there. Actually, this black metal album was for a songwriting challenge at the metal-archives forum (I post there as CloggedUrethra). Purchases are always great, but if not then please download my stuff for free. :)

I post there as Neurosphere I have a review of Carcass' first album on there, somewhere. I also had a few reviews I needed to brush up on. Also, download for free? As nice as that is the material seems good enough to pay for so I would rather do that. Do you post physical copies to England? If so, how much for P&P?

Shipping is free (included in the price) and yes it will ship to England. Single CDs are $8 USD and a 4-CD bundle is $20 (I get a discount on shipping multiple items).

I use http://www.kunaki.com for making the CDs. They'll make a CD and send it out for shipping within 2 days of me placing the order. They're located in Nevada, USA and will ship to many different countries (a list of countries is here: http://www.kunaki.com/prices.asp).

Self-Inflicted Memory Loss (2016)

CD/Digital
= https://nostrilcaverns.bandcamp.com/album/self-inflicted-memory-loss-2016

Genre:
= bizarre randomized technical black/death

Description:
= 99 songs of insane anti-music that was improvised and randomly arranged.

Notes:
= I started by recording 99 drum tracks and 198 guitar tracks (left and right). Each drum/guitar track was improvised and recorded while listening to silence, except for a count-in and count-out to indicate 20 seconds. Then, I made a list in Microsoft Excel from 1 to 99 that signified the chronological order of the drum track recordings and I randomized the order of the list (so that, for example, the 57th drum track I recorded would be on row/song 1, the 89th drum track would be on row/song 2, etc.). I did the same with the guitar tracks, randomized a list from 1-198, and used the first two rows for song 1, the next two for song 2, etc. Then, I rearranged the drum/guitar tracks according to the randomized lists and recorded vocals.

With this method, I was able to create music and listen to it as if I had never heard it before, which is rare as a musician. Hence the name of the album.

Moments in Time (2011) by Cora Canning

Digital
= https://nostrilcaverns.bandcamp.com/album/moments-in-time-2011

Description:
= 89 moments of experimental rock/jazz

Notes:
= Recorded on November 1, 2011.

Everything was improvised and we were recorded live playing together. In the afternoon we recorded 7 songs and in the evening we recorded 8 songs that lasted over 2 hours. I then went through each song and split them into multiple parts, then arranged the parts into three categories based on what I liked most to least (A/B/C). Tracks 1-43 are the A category, tracks 44-66 are the B category, and tracks 67-89 are the C category. The numbers in parentheses are the original song number followed by the part number after the original songs were split (the original song numbers for the afternoon songs are 07-13, the afternoon songs are 14-21).
