Me getting owned by some admins

Doomworld needs to fix the Emails that you receives everytime someone comments on a thread you have posted in because its annoying and pointless. I had tried 819361831 times to turn it off through the options menu but it doesn't work. I dont want to have to unsubscribe from every thread that I have posted in. RIP

I second this entirely. 20% of the over 600 unread emails in my email account are from Doomworld's automatic mailer and I can't turn it off with the options menu.

You realize that you left checked the "Email notification" box for this very post that you have just made complaining about email notification, right?

And you have "Use 'Email Notification' by default?" set to "yes" in your profile.

Yeah I turned it off years ago. I'm not sure why the option isn't working for you two.

Edit: So I just checked my options and it's actually turned on. 'Email Notification' has been on for every post I've made, yet I haven't been getting any emails. I'm not sure why. Maybe there's another option somewhere.

Hotmail/Outlook started blocking e-mails from us long ago, probably because someone reported them as spam instead of being not lazy and unsubscribing from threads.

I could swear I still get emails when someone sends me a private message though (which is the way I want it). Maybe the spam filter doesn't recognise those types of emails. But that would make sense, thanks.

I would prefer an option, to select, whenever I want to get an email from the threads I subscribed too, or not. I guess I could also just bookmark the threads instead of subscribing.

Considering DW is using 13 year old forum software I doubt it will ever happen

Somehow, I've overlooked this option. During my 2.5 years of posting on DW and writing 3100+ posts, I've always been unticking the notification box in every single post I was writing. Thanks for this info.

I guess that explains why I never receive a notice when I get a new PM.
