How does Build determine whether a slope is a wall or floor/ceiling texture?

Recommended Posts

Yeah, just curious, since sloped textures in Build games are usually stretched, implying that they're meant to be treated as floor/ceiling textures that are supposed to look normal when viewed from the top-down.

They're always floor/ceiling textures, even if very steeply sloped, just like ZDoom's slopes are. Source. So as a result, they need mapper's care when being textured.

Build has supported automatic floor/ceiling tile slope-relative scaling since slopes were even a thing. Any sane map author won't make high-angle slopes without the relativity bit set on those sectors.
