Multiple sources have let us know about an entry recently posted to Bethesda's blog where MythBusters investigates if it's really possible for the Doomguy to carry all that stuff:

In this special episode dedicated to the hobby near and dear to our hearts, we’re excited that id Software’s own Tim Willits will be helping Adam and Jamie dig into an often-discussed topic of FPS games: Is it really possible for someone to carry all those health packs, guns, and even a chainsaw?

The episode is scheduled to air on January 31st.

I'm not sure what the point of this would be. Does anyone need a pseudo-science show to prove to them that it would be extremely difficult for a soldier to carry seven weapons at once? It reminds me of all these ridiculous announcements in the papers, where studies show that eating healthy foods improves your health. Thanks for spending research grants to bring us that cracking bit of fortune.

Hold on, isn't Mythbusters that show where they ran out of ideas straight away and now they bugger about trying to prove/disprove random things nobody has ever, ever wanted to know?

Talk about downward spirals.

Id software has been in the toilet since getting bought out and with Mythbusters having lost it's soul last year I guess this pair up was perfect. Now they can be lost and forgotten together.
