[zdoom] I made a map that caused my laptop to crash...

Strange. This map has no BLOCKMAP, NODES or SSECTORS lump. How is it supposed to be loaded?

Good job, you crashed my dosbox!
Doom 1.2 totally froze up.
This reminds me of the time I made a map with just one linedef, a P1 start and a couple imps. Except that map actually ran okay...

Even if NODES and SSECTORS are added to this map, source ports without an extended 512x512 blockmap support will have all sorts of hit detection problems.

Actually, instead of a crash, an explicit checked error should occur, with P_LoadLevel complaining that it cannot find SSECTORS.

I just loaded his map in DEU and saved it as E1M1, so it automatically added those missing lumps (because DEU is cool like that).

When doom.exe loaded the wad, it sort of ran (with view screen full of garbage) but automap didn't show anything, even with map cheat or IDDT. I heard cyberdemon sound off and stomp around after firing the pistol, but that's about it. Also moving or turning too much outside of automap screen freezes game.

The extreme view distance is also likely to cause all sorts of "floating in the glitch void" artifacts, and I have no idea how the wraparound at the borders of the map will affect visuals (presuming there are textured walls there).

I recall somebody had made a smaller wraparound map which was basically one long W-E corridor. A rocket fired down it would eventually wrap around.
