Doomkid's Duelzones [work in progress]

Hey there deathmatchers, I've been working on some new duel maps. So far I've got 7, with a final goal of 10. They aren't quite done yet, but I've put a lot of effort into making them look and play well.

The biggest point here, item and weapon balance is much better than in my old "party" maps. These are meant to be played as pure DM skilltesters, no super-hidden secrets or ridiculous advantages for one play style.

(These maps are in vanilla format, but running them in Doom2.exe causes crashes - Fucking VPOs!)

Suggested DM flags:

-Item respawn: On
-Jumping: Off
-Freelook: Optional
-Weapons stay: On

Double bladed chainsaw deals normal damage, is it intentional? By the way, I really like the green plasma! (I mean, even if the palette's green range is slightly out of balance compared to the original palette, the plasma looks good in it)

I really like these maps and I think the weapon/item placement is well balanced. The maps also flow nicely which is a big plus in my opinion. I think implementing the "no super hidden secrets" is a smart decision. I would love to make a map for this :)

@scifista, Thankyou :) for some reason I'm super partial to the 'neon green' palette edit.

@the_miano, Even though I've been working on this (very slowly and somewhat lazily) I will certainly be helping you with the old pobla DM wad. I think that has a lot of potential to shine, and I've found some great custom textures from the old 2004 skulltag.wad that should go in quite nicely!

We still have to rename it, but I still don't have any ideas. Skulltag textures sound pretty cool. Just a couple more maps along with edits on the weapon/item placement, and it should be ready for some public playtesting. I look forward to seeing the new title pic and interpics!
