Der Gillster Posted March 14, 2015 I was wondering what was the biggest doom wad out there in terms of file size? I know there some big megawads in excess of 20 Mb, but does there exist a gigawad? A wad where it may simulate actual areas in terms of size? If not, what is the biggest wad in terms of size you have ever known, seen or played? The biggest one I ever played was desolation at 70 Mb. 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted March 14, 2015 Biggest I can find quickly is Damnation at 244.5MB. Gigawads exist but the few I've seen are the work of trolls, just one or two small maps and lots of null space to eat your RAM. 0 Share this post Link to post
Never_Again Posted March 14, 2015 Damnation.wad is 250 MB unzipped but the maps themselves are only 16 MB. That should tell you something. 0 Share this post Link to post
Memfis Posted March 14, 2015 Aeons of Death 6 is 314 MB in *.pk3 form, I guess even more if you extract it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Xaser Posted March 14, 2015 I feel like a more interesting discussion would be the "biggest" mod in terms of content/playtime/whatnot, as opposed to pure filesize. Granted, you'd have to impose some restrictions to make sure that 300,000 Levels doesn't take the cake. :P 0 Share this post Link to post
pcorf Posted March 14, 2015 My Great Urban Battle map is one of the largest levels out there in physical size, not linedefs or sectors. 0 Share this post Link to post
