Is it possible to have Wolf3D-style movement in Doom?

Do you mean player or monsters? The player simply moves without bobbing up/down, which should be doable in ZDoom.

Player bobbing is optional in any source port based on Boom. Try Prboom-plus with -complevel 9 or 17; the bobbing option can be toggled under Options / Setup / Weapons.

I mean just the player, Scifista.

Also, thanks Never_Again. I just went with Boom.

Now to flatten all the levels into one height like Wolfenstein 3D.

It's a bit more than that, IIRC. BJ also has no acceleration or deceleration - he starts and stops on a dime. Poor ol' Doom Guy, meanwhile, slides to a stop after you let go of the movement key.

That'd be interesting Memfis. Albeit I'd think that would be wonky as heck for something like MAP30. MAP31 and 32 would probably work fine considering they are based off Wolfenstein 3D levels.

I don't think so. You'd have a hard time avoiding slime damage, because the walkways would be on the same level as the slime (and just as thin).

For those of you who use 3DGE, just bring down the console, type "goobers 1", and reload the map (or ANY map). It flattens it automatically, see? Just like Wolfenstein.

That's awesome :3 I just ran through it really quick to show you guys...but that definitely takes the cake!!

In addition to removing the movebob, is it possible to remove momentum? I think someone made a wad that does this, but it was slow - Is there a way to do it just like in wolf3D, so I can run fast and instantly halt when I stop?

Wow, nice! Did you make that with Wolf in mind, or is it just a debugging thing?
