kermode Posted March 29, 2015 Hi I've been trying to cut a midi file down, similar to cropping an image I guess. That's all I want to do, just highlight what I want to delete & then delete it, or copy what I want & paste into a new file. Is there an easy way to do this? 0 Share this post Link to post
Superluigieth1 Posted March 29, 2015 OpenMPT is your way to go. You can edit it and all that. But, if it's a .mus file, and you want to extract it, use SLADE3. Extract it, get MUS2MIDI (Requires DOSBox) and open it with OpenMPT. Hope this helps. 0 Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted March 29, 2015 Get Sekaiju midi editor, it should be a trivial task there. You just block-select parts of the song and delete or copy/paste them (not 100% sure about copy/pasting, though). 0 Share this post Link to post

kermode Posted March 29, 2015 Two votes for Sekaiju so I tried that & first impression is that it looks like it will work. I can delete the measures I don't want but then have to change the instruments back to what they were before, which I think I can handle. I'll keep the others in mind though. thx everybody :) 0 Share this post Link to post
