Graphics question

Recommended Posts

Hi all. Just downloaded the Unholy Realm wad (PR boom+) and noticed the graphics looked pretty bad. All other wads I've downloaded look crisp and clear. I noticed the default video on Unholy Realm is 8bit... Tried changing it and graphics are still the same. Anything else I can do to improve them? Thanks

Are your settings screwed up? Try deleting/renaming your *.cfg files on prboom's folder.

What do you mean exactly, can you show a screenshot maybe? I agree UR doesn't look good, the use of colors is really unpleasant in my opinion, but probably you're talking about something else? Maybe you want to increase the resolution?

Don't worry. People are hard at works behind the scenes to release Unholy Realm v 2.0. It'll come packaged with a 16 butt version and a $5 steam wallet certificate!

Oh, so you're just unaccustomed to the normal software renderer. OK then.

Can someone tell me how to get rid of sprite filtering in glboom+ ? The enemies look like covered in vaseline, like bilinear filtering looks.

The options are a clusterfuck as in all the Boom derivatives but under Display options I've selected Point filtering and jagged edges, quality rendering ...

Go to Options, General, all the way to the right to texture options. Change texture and sprite filtering to nearest mipmap, and change patch filtering to none. Instant improvement.

Man... glBoom wreaks havoc on my already-shitty bridges. I know UR has some rather unpolished visuals for the most part (there are some winners though), but this is just sending straight up shit creek (via one of the 16 butts, I would imagine)
