Tracer Posted May 29, 2015 As much as I love the nostalgic sound of the original MIDI music and the various music packs (doom metal, PSXMUSIC, etc.), sometimes I love to just have windows media player playing in the background with my "doom playlist" going. Songs I love dooming to (on shuffle): 1. Coffinworm: Strip Nude For Your Killer 2. Yob: Exorcism of the Host 3. Harvey Milk: Dating Pressures 4. Benny Hill: Main Theme (hilarity guaranteed on busy maps) 5. Bongripper: The entire Satan Worshipping Doom album 6. Acid Bath: Finger Paintings of the Insane 7. Witchery: Shallow Grave 8. Megadeth: Headcrusher 9. Metallica: Damage Inc. 10. Pantera: Slaughtered 11. Slayer: Deviance 12. Om: State of Non Return 13. White Zombie: Feed the Gods 14. Rob Zombie: Demonoid Phenomenon 15. Heaven and Hell: Fear This is not a complete list, and all artists listed have several songs that I love playing to. This is just a best of list. What is yours? 0 Share this post Link to post
Yuki Senmatsu Posted May 31, 2015 When it comes to working on The NIGHTMARE! Palace, I listen to a playlist of Monolith BLOOD CD Audio via Winamp. For the Xmas wad I was enhancing for 2 years, random Christmas CD Audio music. Have a few of those. Techbases, Gears Grinding (Nuts And Bolts Remix), and A Site For Sawed Eyes from Itchy And Scratchy SNES. 0 Share this post Link to post
Deleted_Account Posted May 31, 2015 When it comes to playlists and Dooming, I generally have ambient music which consists of work by Aubrey Hodges (PSX Doom/Final/64 and Quake/Quake II). I also have tracks by Aphex Twin, various movie scores such as synth music from John Carpenter movies. I also like listening to Skinny Puppy, Ministry, Front Line Assembly and Nine Inch Nails while I'm Dooming, or even mapping. 0 Share this post Link to post
years Posted May 31, 2015 I don't really like the original MUS's myself at all. Aubrey Hodges is the definitive soundtrack for me. Bongripper, Harvey Milk, Yob... [/b] FUCK yeah! I've been mapping/dooming to Black Sheep Wall, Indian, Mgla, Full of Hell and Prurient recently. Doom metal and noise for the moody levels, black/grind for the faster paced ones. I also sometimes like no music whatsoever... 0 Share this post Link to post

Torturephile Posted June 1, 2015 Sometimes I just play full albums that I buy or plan on buying later on. They are, most of the time, metal albums. The last one I played is Machinery's The Passing, which I'm on the verge of buying. Sometimes I just turn on my iTunes' Genius Mix of metal. 0 Share this post Link to post

You've got great taste, man. I just showed my girlfriend Fairies Wear Boots the other day. She's not into metal at all, so I'm showing her the ropes. She loved it, I tell ya no lies. 0 Share this post Link to post

I even used one in a speedmap, although in retrospect I kind of wish I hadn't. 0 Share this post Link to post

There's also something relaxing about working on maps and listening to that CD. I've seen them 7 times, too (4 old school shows; 2 shows in MD, and one in VA). They're definitely a must-see band live. 0 Share this post Link to post

DeathMetalAccountant Posted June 12, 2015 The original soundtrack is a pretty good mix of groove-, thrash-, and doom- inspired tracks with some imposing orchestral/classical tracks thrown in, so I tried to make a playlist reflecting this... Vektor - Hunger For Violence Yngwie Malmsteen - Crucify Krisiun - Blood Of Lions Cannibal Corpse - Festering In The Crypt Vektor - Black Future Thomas Tallis - Spem In Alium Symphony X - Pharaoh Liege Lord - Feel The Blade Tourniquet - In Death We Rise Ade - The Endless Runaway Yasunori Mitsuda - People Seized with Life Yngwie Malmsteen - Gates of Babylon Slayer - Behind The Crooked Cross Cannibal Corpse - Priests of Sodom Suicidal Tendencies - Memories Of Tomorrow Bruckner - Symphony No. 9 Scherzo Deep Purple - Pictures of Home Living Sacrifice - Symbiotic Nile - Even The Gods Must Die Mastodon - Where Strides The Behemoth Bach - Chromatic Fantasia & Fugue for Harpsichord Liege Lord - Kill The King Demon Hunter - Beheaded Ade - Betrayer from Thrace Arvo Part - Fratres for String Orchestra and Percussion ...and a few others... 0 Share this post Link to post

Best live show I've ever been to, and that's saying something. Some big names I've seen Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, (Fuckin') Slayer, Behemoth, Static X, Lamb of God, Black Label Society, Halford, Hatebreed, Skeletonwitch. Overkill, Devildriver. Mudvayne...none of their shows compare to the energy of a Mushroomhead show. Also, my fellow Mushroomhead fans...check out Ventana if you haven't. Particularly the song "The Dying Sound". 0 Share this post Link to post

That's sick, dude! I wish I could've seen Static X live. Hatebreed and LoG are phenomenal live, too. I've been to a countless number of shows. Ones that really stuck out to me were Mushroomhead, Obituary, Entombed, Lamb of God, Grave, Cannibal Corpse, Chimaira, Korn, Napalm Death, Kataklysm, Pungent Stench, Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid, KMFDM, Black Witchery, Tech N9ne, and a few others. I just can't remember. MRH definitely rule! It was really, really hot at the show in Peabody's. I'd say nothing beats the hometown crowd; heck, everyone went bat crazy when they played 'Idle Worship.' God, I love that song. One band I'd like to see live is Deadsy. Deadsy rocks! I love Ventana!! I think they should put out some new tunes. 10,000 Cadillacs (J and Skinny's other project) are back together. I believe they're working on some new material at the moment. 0 Share this post Link to post
Xegethra Posted June 18, 2015 I don't usually listen to anything while playing games, I just stick with whatever music the WAD has. But if I'm playing the normal game sometimes I'll stick on some cheesy Industrial/Aggrotech or put on some Black/Death Metal. Sometimes 50's Rock and Roll. I dunno what it is though, as much as I love listening to music outside of video games, I rarely make use of custom music or background music in them. 0 Share this post Link to post

Vorknkx Posted June 19, 2015 Rammstein, Alice Cooper, Slipknot, Disturbed, Linkin Park... all of these go well with my daily Doom. I usually stick to the game's original soundtrack, though :) 0 Share this post Link to post

This wad requires jumping. 0 Share this post Link to post
