As far as I know, it's about 100 years old or more and bought as a "souvenir of Africa" by a friend's relation in the early 1900s. Apparently, buying bits of people from around the empire was a thing. It's covered in labels because my friend used it while training to be a dentist (the irony being all the missing teeth I suppose) and then she gave it to me because she thought that I might want it.

At work we have a real skeleton, but it's all broken and in a box, and a full size plastic casting. I also have a 1/3 size plastic one at home plus a wax candle skull (almost life size) and a life-size porcelain skull with an electric light inside it. The ones at work are easy to explain (biology teacher) but I'm not really sure why I have the other things because I'm not particularly skull/death obsessed or anything.
