Mad Dal 85 Posted July 16, 2020 (edited) Some really amazing sprites here. I'm no good at creating custom sprites, I just give the stock and downloaded monsters a recolour and give them new attacks. I got a few good idea for a new weapons and monsters but like I just said, I'm no good at creating sprites, but the programming side like DECORATE/Zscript and GLDefs I'm good at. 3 Share this post Link to post

Warning though, all of these sprites are using custom palette (which I will provide at the bottom with all of these sprites arranged in single wad, for the sake of easy usage) and perhaps shabby in terms of quality. THT Posted July 17, 2020 (edited) Awesome sprites, Rene, I love that glowing drum on the Perforator and I know it seems mundane, but I'm glad someone's made a street lamp that looks better than anything Doom2 gave us. EDIT: I can't convey enough how impressive this sprite-set is, not only the general quality but also how it matches with the current DOOM weapon set...I'm thinking stuff like the Plasma Gun + BFG, with their overall gritty look and vacuum-cleaner aesthetic (not a bad thing!) Hopefully you can get back to work on your project, otherwise the community has an awesome collection of sprites! Also...HI EVERYBODY! I used to be known as THEHIGHESTTREE since 2001 but lost access to my email tied to that account, hence a new one. It's been ages since I've had access to edit DOOM so I've been away for a long time, but I found a way to run classic MacOS under an app called SheepShaver so I'm able to run my favourite old editor, HellMaker! There were some corruptions, but I'm about halfway through a MegaWad for D2 and back to work getting levels built. It's been over 10 years and I was thrilled to cobble together old backups to get to about 80% of where I was before my old computer died. I have about 10 levels near-complete including some big ones! All Vanilla compatible! It's been some time since I was able to post anything, so here's a little preview of a new monster sprite I'm working on, it's working name is Blood Spawn (or Vore Stump) and it's intended to be a crawling/lunging melee enemy roughly as strong as a lost soul, inspired by the look of the cover art demons for the original DOOM. It's intended to be used as all of the following: -the blown-off torso of a larger "blood" demon (think a "light unit" version of a hellknight) -creatures that spawn from an invisible spawner placed in "blood" areas of a map, possibly replenishing health when in blood (though this is spec'ed for vanilla), -the little minions spewed from a big Blood Master baddie, -maybe a ground-based version that leaves a temporarily-damaging wake where it breaks earth? (Dirt Devil!) Tell me what yous think. It's hand-drawn pixels and I'm gonna make its death mushy, like it's only semi-formed and collapses into a mushy puddle with weak pseudo-bones+guts. I might reduce it to 128X64 but I wanted to leave myself the flexibility of the extra height. The concept is that it's a quick ground-based cannon-fodder, but attacks like a lunging pinkie. If it's possible to make it leech life that'd be a cool mechanic too, but for my own use I'd like it to work in Vanilla. In true DOOM fashion though, I'll release it to the Doom community once it's done, as long as people don't try to claim it as their original graphics. Gifty Posted July 25, 2020 (edited) First tentative attempts to render a 3D character down to a sprite. I'm using Build engine proportions on this one, so he's roughly twice the size of a normal doom character. Trying to give him kind of an action figure vibe.
