sesalpinogamer Posted July 11, 2015 Hi guys!My teacher just cancelled the project because of people complaining about it,and who got something, got 1 point instead of 0,5,like me.So,now i am making wads for fun and i got a pretty neat idea (I think),so,i am going to make a 007 level,i am going to import army soldiers sprites and military base sprites,so,you start the level in a plane and you need to use a material transporter (teleporter) to get down there, and once you are in the field near the base, you can look to the plane right up in the air, floating.I want a little tutorial, and here is what i want: -It needs to be "passable",so the player can move inside -It must be floating completely,i am using UDMF format instead of Hexen now, because it is better -Preferrably a 3D buildig (3D floor used) because it looks nicer. BTW,my other wad will be discontinued,i will release the first map for the public and that is it,it may be buggy, but if you really want i can fix it. ALSO!This wad will have 20 levels and 4 secret ones instead of a total of 13! 0 Share this post Link to post
sesalpinogamer Posted July 11, 2015 But before anything,i am going to release the 2nd level without any extra textures, just for you guys, probaly in this night or tomorrow morning. 0 Share this post Link to post

scifista42 Posted July 11, 2015 Just make an elaborate bunch of 3D floors, and expect it to take many hours of your time to get it right (depending on how much complex / good-looking do you want the plane to look like). Judge yourself if it's worth the effort. 0 Share this post Link to post
sesalpinogamer Posted July 11, 2015 1.One in Japan, but mine didnt had to be a doom map. 2.A very very very simple one,the plane and a Teleporter in. 0 Share this post Link to post
Krispy Posted July 11, 2015 Use a 3D model and save yourself the effort. 0 Share this post Link to post

I'd suggest splitting that level into a 2 map hub, one set on board the plane with maybe some custom flats to represent the military base (so you can spend less time worrying about vertical scale), with the teleporter taking you to the second map where you can watch a sprite/model plane fly out of sight or circle around the base (using patrol points?), which makes more sense to me than a floating plane. 0 Share this post Link to post
