Jaxxoon R Posted July 12, 2015 So I made some 3D models to practice MD3 conversion/creation of skins. I showed them to my nephew and they scared the hell out of him so I'm putting them here for my own amusement, I guess. And I only started 3D modelling just yesterday. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/161031419/cat.pk3 0 Share this post Link to post
SavageCorona Posted July 12, 2015 The second I actually saw them from the front In seriousness it's not the worst babby's first 3D model I've ever seen. Mine was just a cube with some textures on it. This has more effort than that. Keep it up and you'll go from this To this cheeky plug to my art blog that i don't update any more http://najoart.tumblr.com/ 0 Share this post Link to post
SavageCorona Posted July 12, 2015 You have to load it in an OpenGL compatible source port like GZDoom or Zandronum. It won't show up in software ports since they don't support 3D. 0 Share this post Link to post

He dubbed them the "Mister Potatohead Poo Cube Monsters." And to be perfectly honest, I quickly put this model together as a way to figure out how MD3 textures work. There was another one before this, some sort of odd robot, but I accidentally fucked it up and had to trash it. I've always had a liking for geometric shapes and anything art-deco inspired in general, so super low-poly modelling has been very fun for me. If you're interested, here's the latest one I made immediately after the Poo Cube: I couldn't figure out if I was making a man or a woman, so I ended up with this rather androgynous DUANE! looking fella. By the way, I had a glance at that gallery thing you linked. I liked the Varhskelethor Mushroom the most, wasn't expecting to see it. 0 Share this post Link to post
SavageCorona Posted July 13, 2015 You could possibly go for something similar to the Descent style if you like low poly modelling. Maybe make those flying robots that are made of about 4 polygons except humanoid. 0 Share this post Link to post
