Halfblind Posted August 19, 2015 I was sifting through the Zdoom monster scripts for Doom this week and I came across the Beta Skull and inserted it into one of my test levels. I went to the Zdoom wiki and learned what it is but I still have a few questions. 1. The wiki says “They appear as pure white skulls surrounded by glowing energy” and “the states do not correspond and they will look odd if the correct sprites are not provided.” Did id release the original sprites somewhere or does anyone know where I can get them? I would really like to know what it looks like. In the level with the lost soul sprites it looks rather dark but still transparent. 2. Has anyone ever used this monster type in any of their mods or maps? I would like to have an idea of how to use the sprites in an actual level. Halfblind Posted August 20, 2015 They look like the heads that comes off the Hell’s Fury Monster in the Realm667 beastiary and found also in the Hells Twisted Influence series of maps. I like the ones that id software ended up using better, they are one of my favorite monsters, aesthetically from the original Doom. Also looks like the particle frames have quite the glitch with staying in the air after it had been fired. VGA said:Someone should merge the beta and the final skulls.
