DOOM Retro v1.9 Released

DOOM Retro v1.9 has been released. This version includes a large amount of changes, including:

  • The ability to display the automap on a second screen.
  • A unique shake effect when the player is injured.
  • A new method to scale up the display onto the screen.
  • Support for MP3 and Ogg music lumps.
  • And much more...

    edit: Does the OGG lumps support the special looping abilities similar to how Zdoom has it?

    I like the second-screen automap. My only wish is that there was an option to have it run inside a window instead of being fullscreen.

    No, unfortunately I don't believe SDL_mixer, which DR uses, supports the LOOP_* tags.

    Are there any ports that support picture-in-picture automap? Similar to the recently released early alpha, or perhaps Zdaemon duel spectator PIP?

    Nice to see that Doom is being kept alive. I have been absent from the community for several years now but I will give this a try. I might even get back into editing and rip out the 3D bits from my old Legacy wads to make them compatible.
