Interview With A Romero

There's a interview with John Romero up on BondeLAN, which apart from the interview is in a foreign language (some Scandanavian one, I can't tell). The interview is pretty short, and while it covers some requisite Daikatana stuff, it also has some Doom questions thrown in for good measure. Such as:

Now a little "bonus" question, whats your favourite map, monster and weapon from the Doom series?

JR: My favorite map is MAP 17 "The Tenements" from DOOM2, my favorite monster is the Baron of Hell, and my favorite weapon is the Rocket Launcher.

Thee Romero has good taste in levels. My favorite stock id map is DOOM2's MAP17, too. As for critters and arsenal, I'm all for the Revenant and chaingun.

Map18, the courtyard. The battle itself is dumb since you just run around and watch the death, but the music is great. I don't like one monster more than another, but I HATE lost souls and the gasbags that generate them. Pain elementals. So, yes, chaingun is my favorite.
