Linguica Posted November 18, 2000 Fanatic's Asylum has been updated about all sorts of wild and crazy things, including his internet job, the design for his CD order tracking, building a monster snake cage, sales of his CDs, and the 10 Sectors WAD contest. 0 Share this post Link to post

Swedish Fish Posted November 18, 2000 IMO I don't think anyone should assume they made it in the ten sectors contest. That's rather egotistical, don't you think? 0 Share this post Link to post
sgtcrispy Posted November 18, 2000 Hey Marc, save me a CD or two. I need a job first. Later Ace! 0 Share this post Link to post
Aardappel Posted November 18, 2000 I'm most curious to see Marc's map now 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Fanatic Posted November 19, 2000 I'm assuming I didn't because I didn't get emailed. Apparently those that made it were contacted. so those that made it know it, probably just don't know what place they hit. Only 22 hours before we get to finally find out!!! 0 Share this post Link to post
stphrz Posted November 19, 2000 There were a lot of very good map makers that entered this contest y'know. Just because Marc's map didn't make the top 32 (well maybe it did, who knows) does not mean that it wasn't good. I don't know what critera exactly was used to judge which wads made the best 32, but I'm sure it was fair. There's bound to be some disagreement amongst some of us about the final placements, but as long as each entry was judged consistently there should be no real complaining. At least I hope there won't be :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Fanatic Posted November 20, 2000 Yeah, I look at my level now after running thru the official maps, and they simply blow mine away. I'm in awe, I really thought I did a superior job on mine. It's not bad, but nowhere near as big and well designed as some of the ones in the contest. You feel very flat in mine. This is one of those contests that I almost wish we could do again (no relation to the election problems in Florida). That whole hindsight thing. I just didn't have anything to relate to for using only 10 sectors. If I saw some of those large levels, I would have tried a lot harder than I did. That's for sure. 0 Share this post Link to post
stphrz Posted November 20, 2000 Yeah. I didn't put anywhere near enough effort into mine. I started a little late, didn't take enough care aligning textures. Had waaayy too much ammo. Didn't use enough detail :P Didn't take full advantage of Boom effects. I had some height variation but didn't use it enough. I could go on, but I'm beginning to depress myself :) 0 Share this post Link to post
