Freedoom Update

Fraggle here with the weeklyFreeDoom update.
This week has been fairly quiet, but there have been several texturesubmissions, including some new crate textures from Fredrik and alsoquite a few textures from Espi. Our wall patches status now stands at87.6%, and there was somediscussion in the FreeDoom forum about how to organise finalisingthe textures once we have replacements for all the textures. We aim torelease a texture wad containing all the FreeDoom textures, which willall be available for authors to reuse in their own wads as they wish.
On the sprites front, Fredrik submitted a replacement for the shotgun.We have had 2 shotguns already submitted but the feedback on them was not very positive. This third shotgun has met with much betterfeedback.

Exactly... We can never have the same old shotgun. I find this one a very nice replacement. I don't see why people hate it.

I like the new shotgun. Much better than the last two. A better one could come along but ill be content with this one.

To make things clear and to avoid a flamewar: Sorry about the monkey thing, it was not really directed to you and does not relate to any of the posts below here.

But some people really don't appreciate any efforts I make, and they are everything but constructive in their criticism.

Don't get me wrong. I don't think my shotgun or any other work I've made is state of the art or perfect or cannot be replaced or something like that.

Fredrik: 1st. You could actually see that it was a shotgun. 2nd. Yes I agree it was cartoonish. Everything in that TC is more or less cartoonish... My point is.. If youre gonna replace something, replace it with something better.. None of these shotguns have had any advantage over the other.. Mine was cartoonish, and the reload frames weren't the best in the world.. The one from covert ops is just plain boring and the hand looks like a chicken foot.. Yours looks like a black dildo. It simply don't look like a shotgun in any way or sense..

BTW could someone PLEASE redraw the pistol sprite to have a KICKBACK?
