maybe if doom 3 comes out, it will have an extra cd in the box with all the dooms and stuff on it.

they did it for duke nukem 3d, had the full
duke 1 and 2 on the cd.

id Software never has been that giving with their games out of the box. It's always patches and updates that turn their products into the master peices we love. Sadly, that won't be happening with this Collector's Doom - and I doubt it if they'll bundle it with Doom 3 - that'd be altruistic, would it not?

if it's a collectors edition, why on earth would they include source modifications? unless it were some early ports of the game, most of the "ports" that people use are, like, the latest stuff for doom, not something for a collection. and as for (all) addons, they are made by users, independently of id Software, and are all available for free on the net; and why would id wade through thousands of maps and megawads to sell those they select? all they need to do is mention there is an active commmunity producing addons on the web.

in other words, id will only release the commercial DOOM products by id software (Final DOOM is by TeamTNT, but it's still an id product).

you really think they're that rare? i just ran a couple of searches, came up with a copy of the book with CD for $8. i don't get paid till friday...so if no-one else finds it before then i'll buy it and upload the levels. they don't look as if they're official in any way to me though - just some schmuck's add-ons.

Isn't it illegal to charge for doom addons w/o a licence from ID? I know Banjo Soft payed 5000$ for their license... Wich the income for Hacx didn't cover, I might add. :I

as it happens, I originally owned a copy of that book ... wasn't too great mind you, I liked the Sybex's unofficial Doom strategy guide better, it was like 300 pages of Doom resource information which while not as complete as say Hank Leukart's faq was still a good resource (including an interview with John Romero and stuff).

Anyway, the Lost Episodes are on my ftp ... somewhere

Yep,the Saturn version is slow, but it still looks good and the gameplay is great(but short of the PC of course, which tells you what we already know!)That's why it's on loan to my bro', he's hooked of course, means I've got something at least half decent to play when I'm there,an' wait till he plays PC!!!!!(we live opposites ends U.K.)
Biggest let down with the console versions, apart from joypads of course,NO Arch-viles!

Christ, the installer would take me about 10 minutes to program, but of course I would claim it took about a week to the boss!!
$19.99 is a rip off for just reburning old games on new CDs. Easy money.

anyone heard anything about Eric Harris'(One Of The Columbine killers) levels? I have 6 out of 11 of them, one of wich being 2 level single player, the rest are multi. here are the titles:

Killer - Deathmatch
UAC Labs - Single player(2 levels)
Fight Me
Hockey
Bricks
Station

...and the ones i dont have:

Techout - Unknown
Assault - Unknown
Realdeth - Unknown
Thrasher - Unknown
Realdoom - Patch

if any of whomever reads this and has ones i dont, PLEASE, I beg you, i'd like a copy. mail me or repost.

First off... do something about your name. Second, the lost levels is a series of levels put out by ID Software several years ago following the release of Doom II... and yes, every Doomer should know that. Anyhow, 3DO is a company that's been around for a few decades and have made some of the ebst games around... they even had their own console at one time or another, but... whatever works.

Apparently you weren't a member of DW when the POTD was of the cover of Collector's DOOM. It's blue with the same melting skeleton as on the POTD now. I have it saved on my 'puter. If somebody has a link to it, ask them.

Eh, I searched for them about a year ago, could be why I came up empty. I did find the book at several locations, but they did not include the CD. And you're right, they aren't official since I haven't seen them on id's website or downloadable order form.

Yeah, uploading would be really cool, thanks. Although I'm the type of stubborn person that must get it all wrapped up in the box, admire the box for a while, read and reread the manual and book, and marvel at the storyline. :)

Heh. Truly never thought of looking in Ling's directory on DW. Many thanks to you.

btw, Maybe it's me, but I think I like my "willie" a bit more than Doom. Thats just my opinion though...I think it goes in this order: 1: "willie"
2: Doom
3: Food
Something like that.
