Tormentor667 Posted August 2, 2000 Yes, it is possible to add more textures to doom without overwriting the existing one. For this you have to edit the "pnames" lump. Get Wintex 4.3! With this programm it is very easy to put in new textures. If you want to insert sprites (new without overwriting) you have to edit the source code because you have to create new objects which use the sprites. Ask the creators of Skulltag for this. Their Railgun and their Grenade launcher are very cooooool... :-) --------------------------- Doom will never die! 0 Share this post Link to post
sirgalahadwizar Posted August 3, 2000 EDGE allows for you to put in new sprites without changins source code or at least you don't have to re-compile, it uses those text-DDF files, DDFs are pretty much the source code of the game as far as sprites and attacks go ;) 0 Share this post Link to post
deathbringer Posted August 3, 2000 Actually to make new patches (this is with wintex 4) go to the patch list then click on 'guru only/new entry' then type a name for it,say monitor-then do 'load entry from file' and choose your monitor picture andd there,a new patch without having to edit any lump Now for the texture copy texture1 from the main iwad and open it,choose 'edit/new texture' and type in the name (such as compscrn_1a -just sound id-ish) and choose your monitor patch from the list there a TOTALLY new texture without overwriting anything and no editing lumps (i hates doing that) 0 Share this post Link to post
