text mode doom

the more strange among you may find these screenshots interesting, just something i rattled off in a spare half hour but amusing nonetheless:

The funny thing is that it's actually surprisingly playable - its difficult to tell what the framerate is because its impossible to read the console text but its definitely above 35 fps on my machine.

And yes, before anyone asks, I am supposed to have quit doom. So sue me :)

I must be strange, because I find those screenshots interesting. I'd like to get this program.

Fraggle- can you recode the doom menus and console display to use ASCII chars in text mode? That would rock. A lot. :)

not really...

text adventures are where you type in text commands etc. to control how you move around the adventure world, This uses the Pc's text mode (as opposed to graphics mode which is normally used for games) to draw the screen.
