Does someone know what are the system requirments for the DOOM 64 rom?

Damn, I thought I downloaded that one. Anyway, I have a lot of roms, but none of them work real great. What emulator do you use?

Yeah, you should go out and buy it like I did. I think it's a very good game, but I know a lot of people hate it.

ROMs are illegal, it is almost like warez, considering the fact that it is still piracy.

ROMs are not illegal, but proprietory ones such as doom 64 are (some systems have free fan made games). To be consistent, you should probably call it "ROMz" - the z is usually put on the end to indicate that the material is illegal (warez, romz, mp3z...)

It's not illegal if you own the said game though. More or less as a "back-up" copy.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that it is still illegal even if you own the game.

Really? I always see on the sites "delete after 24 hours if you don't own the game" or something like that. Either way, no one can really be stopped from downloading them.

No, it's not. I have a rather large library of legal roms - roms for which I own the original game. It's just like a computer software license.

Copying tools. Dunno where you get them, probably from the company that makes the system.

If I'm understanding you correctly, that can't be right. Why would the company release something that would prohibit them from selling games (and systems), and virtually give them away for free?!

For people to make backup copies and for gaming companies to make games to put ON the blank *whatever*, say cartridge or disc.

There are many game copying tools for every system made by various companies. They are rare in the US because it's kind of taboo. But you could probably order one online.

International copyright laws DO in fact give consumer's the right to make backup copies of their software OF ANY KIND.... includin video game cartridges which ARE considered software. I don't remember there being ANY CLAUSE in this law that states dat Nintendo is an exception.

They have been tryin to pull dis kind of bullshit on software purchasers for years and emulation specialists, and their court cases have almost all flopped..... Nintendo sure da fuck has gone down hill in the last 5 fuckin years!
