Guest PainoMan Posted October 7, 2000 I hope to the good god above that cdrom.com is only temporarily down... 0 Share this post Link to post
geekmarine Posted October 7, 2000 I hope so too. Let's just pray that the Demons haven't attacked the headquarters where they keep the server for ftp.cdrom.com. Of course, if they have, I'll just go and get my shotgun out of the closet, dust off my BFG, and test it out on them. 0 Share this post Link to post
Peter Heinemann Posted October 7, 2000 Please no! After reading the stupid message posting of that Doom-flaming blockhead and the down of doomshack the third bad message today. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sir Fragsalot Posted October 7, 2000 Does anyone else see similarities to the ARPAnet crash of 1980? Everything Doom-related is going down. I hope the trend stops NOW. 0 Share this post Link to post

I am sure that the "Bundespruefstelle", responsible for banning Doom in Germany (one of my favorite subjects) has nothing to do with that, has it not? ARPAnet crash of 1980? Have not heard about it. ? 0 Share this post Link to post
Sir Fragsalot Posted October 8, 2000 ARPAnet was the original form of the Internet. In 1980, the entire thing went down, losing hundreds of gigabytes of e-mail and other data. Imagine if all the chatrooms, ISPs, e-mail servers, telnet servers, FTP servers, and everything else went down at the SAME TIME. 0 Share this post Link to post
