Guest kevingpo Posted November 21, 2000 I'm looking for people interested in this. It looks primitive but should be good practice for novices and beginners. http://web.ukonline.co.uk/kevingpo/doom2d.htm 0 Share this post Link to post

Guest kevingpo Posted November 22, 2000 Lament said:But there is a doom2d game already?. Yeah, that other Doom2d (by Destroyer) is Doomland, a 2D side-on view small platformer. BUT, I have created a BIRD'S-EYE view multiplayer game taking advantage of importing Doom2 MAP levels, etc. Why is it in top-down view? Well, that's how multiplayer works and you get those old day multiplayer feels. The strathing left and right, whilst firing the plasma gun, etc etc. I've implemented all weapons plus extra 'weird-algorithm' weapons (though DOS-Doom2d was better at the extra weapons). Plus, it's split-screen so that you can deathmatch the old days on one PC. Windows-Doom2d needs quite a powerful machine (at least 233MMX) to get it running. I was hoping it would run on a 486,etc - probably it's in 640x480 that's why.. Okay okay, it does look a bit weird with the players flat on the ground when you're suppose to be seeing their heads from above. But I didn't have time to draw good pics, nor am I good at them. <IMG SRC="http://web.ukonline.co.uk/kevingpo/doom2d_files/wdoom2d.gif"> 0 Share this post Link to post
