Help - Unable to patch

The version number of my Doom 1 is 1.3, and I cannot patch it with the programs in the "Patch" section. Is it a non-commercial, or pirated version?
How could I make it to Ultimate Doom?

I don't see 1.3 as a supportable/official version.

May be non-USor an illegal version.

From the versions I have kicking around (from my original 1.1 and subsequent patches and my collection of shareware copies - sad geek) doom went from 1.2 to 1.4 in one public release. Am I missing one?
