OpenGL for old shooters

Recommended Posts

Guest donadoni

Hi,

the OpenGL files for Doom and Quake 1 are phantastic. Can I get this also for Hexen 1, Heretic 1 and Blood 1+2?
Thanks for your answers.

For Doom, Heretic, and Hexen, go here:

http://www.newdoom.com/jdoom/

The VERY bottom of the page has links for JHeretic and JHexen.

Blood1 has a 3dfx patch I believe, but I've heard it's practically useless (loads of bugs,crashes, etc)

Blood2 had hardware support built in... (although it was on par with the rest of game, ie complete garbage).

Doomworld's source port section carries quite a number of Doom, Heretic and Hexen source ports with hardware acceleration, for quite a number of operating systems. I'd suggest you take a look there :)

Blood has a 3Dfx patch, which is supposedly in 'alpha' stage. From what I heard that patch is complete and utter crap. I don't expect Monolith to release a proper patch now. If you still want it, it's available at Monolith's Blood site.

Blood II is a modern-day 3D shooter, and like all modern-day 3D shooter has hardware support built in.
