Lost Soul Posted March 31, 2001 Here's a question I'm kinda curious about for all ya. What is your fave level of ANY Doom out there, and why? Personally, I got a few faves. Doom 1 - 3 way between the Toxin Refinery, for it plentiful carnage, The Slough of Despair just for the tunes and name alone, and Gate to Limbo, cause that's just a fun maze for me! Doom 64 is ALL about either level 12- Altar of Pain, for the mass ambushes, or level 31- In the Void ... cause.. well.. it's just so damn cool! P.S. this is prolly pointless, but at least it isn't spam! 0 Share this post Link to post

Zeratul 982 Posted March 31, 2001 Just a second. Let me copy/paste my reply from a similar thread that nightmare imp posted. My favorite levels? Well, you asked for it! Ultimate Doom: E2M4 - "Deimos Lab" - nice and spooky E2M6 - "Halls of the Damned" - even spookier E3M7 - "Limbo" - I really don't have a clue. PSX Doom: "Deimos Lab" (again) "The Mansion" - yet another spooky one (Note: They cut out the best part of "Halls of the Damned!!") Doom 2: Map18 - "The Courtyard" - Big center with rooms around it Map24 - "The Chasm" - There's just something about it... PSX Final Doom (Master Lvls.): "Minos" - The night sky flat gives it a nice touch "Paradox" - Reminds me of the 1st level of my megawad PSX Final Doom (TNT): "Deepest Reaches" - Whoh yeah...The uncharted depths. "Heck" - 4 directions to choose, and both dangerous. PSX Final Doom (Plutonia): "Aztec" - An ancient stone temple does the trick alright. Doom 64: "Dark Citadel" - It has an eerie mood, not to mention an equally eerie ambient music track. Check out the basement library. "Eye of the Storm" - Hmm...a blue-purple hue. "Spawned Fear" - Unexplainable. "Unholy Temple" - Ooh...a hellish temple with GREEN fire engulfing the horizon! Is that enough? 0 Share this post Link to post

DooMBoy Posted March 31, 2001 Let's see here......well, 1. The ENTIRE Episode One from Ultimate Doom/Doom1. Need I say more? 2.Doom2-The Spirit World, becasue it's really rather convincing as a Hell-thememd level. Refueling Base-Pretty good for a base-style level. I don't know about you, but I like the overall level design. The Focus-It's a good level on its own merits, but the darkness is also a nice touch. The Crusher-Another dark base-style level. I really liked this one. 0 Share this post Link to post

Submerge Posted April 2, 2001 My favorite levels are: Doom1: Mt. Erebus, Unholy Cathedral, and Command Center (or whatever that level in episode 2 is called. The one with the secret exit.) Doom2: The Inmost Dens, The Courtyard, The Living End, Dead Simple, and Suburbs (Though it looks like it was thrown together at the last minute.) 0 Share this post Link to post
