I've noticed that there is a s PSX sound replacement WAD out there. I played it, and thought it was ok. By any chance, could someone tell me how it was done and where to get it if it's shareware or anything like that? I have a few games that might make good sound replacements. Now, if you tell me that a microphone and sound recorder was used, then I won't believe that, cuz as far as I know, there is no sound test for the PSX version of DOOM. Even if there was, I tried doin stuff like that and it's never good quality (worse than telephone/radio quality!). Any help is appreciated.

Most of the sounds are taken from Doom 64. When a sound is playing, pause, then unpause the game. The sound will start from the beginning and play again. Elbryan calls it the "pause glitch." And yes, a microphone and sound recorder was used believe it or not, using that glitch.

Using elbryan's sounds, Esco and I made a PSX/N64 sound wad, and as you know they're both on the ftp. Then again, maybe Esco made and used his own PSX/N64 sounds to make his sound wad. I don't know.

You probably have a cheap Radio Shack microphone if it gives you telephone-quality recordings. A good one will be at least $200.
