NEW sounds w/o using dehacked

I want to add totally new sounds to a compilation w/o replacing some of the shared sounds <e.g demon pain, soldier pain, breathin sounds n shit> How do I do this?

i think Edge is the only source port that allows that

You'll have to use a source port that has some type of scripting to allow new sounds to be called: EDGE and ZDOOM are the two major ones I know of that are pretty easy to add new stuff to.

zdoom does allow that...thru editing a file called soundinfo.lmp

SMMU can do it too, but you'd have to use some FraggleScript to make use of it. You'd use the script calling codepointer in the frame you want to make the sound, then have the script called from that frame play your new sound. SMMU automatically hashes in all DS* lumps it finds in any wad, making them valid sounds. A pretty cool way to do it IMO.
