Guest Chris0 Posted November 28, 2000 How do I replace new sounds for doom using wintex 4.3? I have a wad with new sound effects. First, what do I do in Pwad To Join and Pwad To Examine Or Modify? I you give me your icq, it would be more helpful. 0 Share this post Link to post
ReX Posted November 28, 2000 You can either merge your sound wad into your map wad, or you can copy the sound entries from your sound wad into your map wad. To merge the two wads, select one of your wads (say the sound wad) in your "PWAD to join" window. Next, select the other wad in your "PWAD to examine or modify" window. Click the "Join PWADs" button on the right. You'll get a message in a DOS window telling you that DEUSF is at work, and when the merging is done you'll get another message. That's all there is to it. Keep in mind that the PWAD being examined or modified (in this case your original map wad) will be overwritten (in this case to include the sounds in the sounds wad). If you want only selected sounds to copy into your map wad, then do the following. Open your sound wad in WinTex and select the sound(s) that you want to copy. Pull down the "Edit" menu and select "Copy entries". Close your sound wad and open your map wad in WinTex. Pull down the "Select" menu and select "Sounds". Pull down the "Edit" menu and select "Paste entries". 0 Share this post Link to post
