doom2 -file name.wad -deh name.deh

If you are using legacy then you don't have to type -deh

legacy -file name.wad name.deh

I'm not sure if plain vanilla doom supports .deh though?

First of all, make a back-up of doom2.exe (call it doom2.bak or something).

Now load DeHackEd, and press "l". Select the .deh file you want to use, and it'll load it up.

Press "w" and it'll write all the changes the .deh makes to your .exe.

Now quit DeHackEd, and just load doom 2 as normal (with any add-ons you want) and the changes should be in place.

Note: now you can see why most people prefer source ports, you just type, e.g. "Boom -deh x.deh -file y.wad", and some of them such as ZDoom even let you include the .deh in .wad files :)

See my post above, you can't load .deh in doom2.exe like this I'm afraid :(

You should just use a source port. You don't have to specifically design it for a source port or anything. But I wouldn't let the limits of Plain Vanilla Doom hold you back.

Oh ya now I remember. Before I knew you could use -deh to launch wad files. I would load the .deh that i wanted to use and wright it to hack.exe and just type hack instead of doom2. Then one day i opened up someones batchfile and say the -deh parameter. I had a folder that had differant .exe files that were for the varies .deh files that i had.
